Job Description: 

Reporting directly to the Shipping Manager, the Shipping Lead provides leadership and direction to the shipping associates.  Additionally, the Shipping Lead performs all shipping functions including but not limited to sorting, stacking, carrying, and moving product, scanning product, and loading product onto trailers for accurate, on time delivery to customers. The Lead conducts random audits to ensure accuracy and shipping quality standards are met.


  • Provide direction and daily work delegation to Shipping Warehouse Associates
  • Monitor work of the team to ensure business goals are met
  • Perform end of shift wrap up – ensure all trailers are accurately loaded; ensure working/charged jacks or yellow seals are placed on each trailer
  • Perform daily audit of pallet jacks and trailers
  • Stack or moves product from conveyor belts to skids
  • Operate shrink wrap machine according to standards
  • Verify shipments against manifest before they are loaded on the trucks
  • Load product skids on truck trailers
  • Responsible for following all safety rules, regulations and guidelines
  • Demonstrate and promote behavior that supports AWBC’s core values
  • Performs other duties as assigned, including work in variable locations


Job Requirements



  • Applicable warehouse and/or shipping experience
  • Prior experience using radio-frequency scanner preferred
  • Prior forklift/PIT experience preferred


  • High school diploma or equivalent


  • Ability to lead work teams successfully, while displaying core leadership skills
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills
  • Forklift certified or become forklift certified and be able to retain certification
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer skills; Microsoft Office and Outlook experience preferred
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships with management, senior management, and corporate office personnel


Physical and Environmental Requirements

Must Be Able To:

  • Willing and able to work variable hours, in excess of 40 in a week, as needed; including Saturdays, as needed.
  • Stand for long period of time, up to 4 continuous hours, 8 – 12 hours during a shift.
    • Walking short distances through the department/building
    • Use hands/arms to operate required equipment and repetitive motion activities
    • Lift objects up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance
    • Communicate with or without an assistive device
    • Hear with or without an assistive device
    • Bend, stoop or crouch while performing daily activities of the job
    • Effective, clear and proficient verbal and written communication skills, including reading and writing
    Pass a written test and perform the skills for evaluation demonstrating PIT proficiency
