Job Description: Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Engineering Lead at AWBC is responsible for leading, coordinating, and performing all tasks as it relates to the Engineering department. The Engineering Lead will be responsible for the coordination and accomplishment of daily Engineering goals provided by the Engineering Manager. In addition, this position will perform administrative tasks to measure performance/quality and communicate actual process results to all Engineering associates.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead/coordinate all daily tasks according to the Engineering plan received by the Engineering manager.
  • Perform administrative tasks to measure associates productivity/quality and provide feedback to associates on actual results.
  • Perform core Engineering processes, such as move transactions, consolidation, etc.
  • Lead/coordinate activities according to project plans for multiple company-wide projects.
  • Assign work tasks to Engineering associates according to the plan received by the Engineering manager.
  • Assist the Engineering manager in identifying critical opportunities for inventory consolidation, movement, and re-configuration to increase location availability/efficiency.
  • Organize and lead daily start up meetings, to communicate nightly plan, goals, and previous days actual results.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with the 3rd Shift Facility Manger, to communicate Engineering activities, nightly plans, and issues.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to associates to improve productivity and task efficiency.

Make recommendations to the Engineering manager about daily tasks for continuous improvement


Job Requirements

Required Skills

  • Intermediate verbal/written communication skills, to effectively communicate with/coach associates
  • Knowledge of warehouse/department functions
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good time management skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Experience using RF devices to perform inventory transactions (Put-aways, Moves, Receiving, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of D&W/AS400
  • Microsoft Excel experience preferred

Physical and Environmental Requirements

  • Must be able to sit at a computer or desk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to use hands/arms to operate keyboard, telephone and for repetitive motion activities.
  • Must be able to lift objects up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Must be able to communicate using speech, sight, and sound with or without assistive device.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, stoop or crouch while performing daily activities of the job.
