Job Description

Reporting to the Director of Operations Excellence, the Operations Excellence Manager at AWBC oversees all operations of the Operations Excellence team. In addition to these areas, this position will directly support AWBC’s management team through facility and company-wide projects and data analysis for improving the overall safety, quality, and efficiency of warehouse operations. 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day to day responsibilities of the Operations Excellence department.
  • Works with Director of Operations Excellence to develop facility plans to ensure the facility is operating at optimal production levels through facility design, layout, and next pick/ engineering processes.
  • Analyze operational data daily to determine future projects/challenges, making recommendations to the executive directors, and create daily work plans for all areas.
  • Perform budget reconciliations to ensure that all areas are operating within budget.
  • Oversee all aspects of the logistics planning process. This includes research into plan variances, data input into the model, and feedback to functional leadership.
  • Support production departments through the creation of data / planning models to optimize efficiencies.
  • Review operational audit results and provide management with recommendations for improvement.
  • Create and implement engineering plans to ensure that facility capacity exists based on location / pick demand.
  • Provide guidance on the interpretation of operational data with other Departments.
  • Coordinate with Director in overseeing Job Instruction Training and Process Excellence programs for entire facility.
  • Communicate with management and end users to oversee, develop and maintain standard operating procedures.
  • Lead, track, and coordinate projects as assigned by Senior Leadership throughout the facility.
  • Assist in maintaining production and labor forecast models for the facility.
  • Coordinate quality control objectives to improve process and order accuracy through the establishment of internal statistical quality measurements and audits

 

Job Requirements

Education / Experience Requirements

  • Four-year business degree, MBA preferred.
  • At least 3 years of supervisory experience in a warehousing, distribution, or production environment.
  • Proven ability to both develop and lead highly functional teams within a distribution environment.
  • Experience in an environment that implements process excellence initiatives, improving the overall quality and efficiency of warehouse operations. 
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and communication operational data.

 

Required Skills

  • Advanced knowledge in data organization, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills, to effectively present findings to peers and management.
  • Candidate must present themselves, in action and appearance, in a professional manner always.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Must know intermediate statistics principles.

 

Physical and Environmental Requirements

  • Must be able to sit at a computer or desk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to use hands/arms to operate keyboard, telephone and for repetitive motion activities.
  • Must be able to lift objects up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Must be able to communicate using speech, sight, and sound with or without assistive device.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, stoop or crouch while performing daily activities of the job.
