Job Description

The goal of the position is to provide effective tools and leadership that impact the organization in the management of the Company’s overall inventory. This position requires the individual to be proficient in the analysis and reporting on the brands inventory in both retail stores and our distribution center. The successful Inventory Manager will be excellent at managing detail with the ability to also think strategically. This individual must also possess the ability to thrive in a fast-paced fluid environment where rapid change and growth are a consistent factor.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage an Open to Buy for the merchant team
  • Identify and develop action plans to address inventory needs based on sales, turn, and GMROI.
  • Provide sales and inventory analysis and reporting to the merchant team as well as Senior Management on a regular basis.
  • Collaborate with the merchant team, warehouse, finance, and store teams to maximize sales and profit and to ensure smooth flow of inventory.
  • Create and manage a process to enforce data integrity for both new and used products in the brand including physical inventory postings and pricing.
  • Manage small group of Category Managers in directly supporting sales and inventory goals and targets.
  • Execute any additional tasks and projects necessary at the direction of the Vice President of Merchandising and Inventory.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • BA/BS in Finance, Business Management, Marketing, or related field
  • Proficient in MS Office specifically Excel and Access, as well as knowledge of data bases and business intelligence reporting.
  • Understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods.
  • Knowledge of Inventory Management systems and applications.
  • Proven experience in managing inventory and sales for a small to midsized, multi-location retailer.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

  • Must be able to sit at a computer or desk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to use hands/arms to operate keyboard, telephone and for repetitive motion activities.
  • Must be able to lift objects up to 25 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Must be able to communicate using speech, sight, and sound with or without assistive device.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, stoop or crouch while performing daily activities of the job.
  • Must be able to travel by car and air to include walking long distances between locations
