Job Description

The Copywriter/Editor will report to the Vice President of Marketing and will be responsible for writing a variety of copy to be used for marketing the brand and its product lines in store signage, website and email copy, corporate communications, loyalty programs, among other opportunities. Proofreading skills, with a focus on spelling, grammar, sentence structure and voice are 50% of the position’s job. 



Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Writes copy to be used in campaigns promoting seasonal shopping periods, specific products, blog posts, website promotion, etc.
  • Researches and edits copy that will be used in various forms of promotional elements.
  • Develops and proofs copy to persuade the target audience to purchase seasonal products or services.
  • Researches competitors to consistently evolve our own brand voice, delivering via omnichannel campaign marketing channels (website, email, social, loyalty, social, blog).
  • Meets with key internal department leadership and buyers to understand the identified goals and the message the company wants to communicate.
  • Creates and maintains a consistent brand standard as it pertains to voice, punctuation, preferred descriptors, word situations to avoid.
  • Performs additional related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English Language & Literature, Communications, Marketing, or related field required
  • Two to three years of related writing experience preferred
  • Avid reader preferred
