Job Description

Responsible for interfacing with programming resources for defining requirements, analysis, design, testing and QA of POS suite of applications.  Responsible for deployment, move/add/changes and operational support (tier-2) of POS suite of applications in an expert capacity.

Job Requirements

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Participate in design, code walkthroughs and test planning
  • Perform unit, integration and regression testing
  • Migrate and implement POS software solutions
  • Research existing problems and propose solutions
  • Troubleshoot bug fixes as needed
  • POS software support and maintenance
  • Credit card, loyalty card, and gift card software support and maintenance
  • Sales and inventory polling and maintenance
  • Provide on-call support
  • Prepare technical documentation
  • Prepare user documentation and provide user training and support
  • Perform POS hardware integration and testing (receipt printers, PIN pads, etc.)
  • Other tasks/assignments as needed


Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with course work in information systems or a related field
  • 3 years equivalent work experience with demonstrated competence.
  • Experience with Retail systems, particularly POS and payment systems.


Preferred Skills

  • Ability to create detailed specifications, with periodic support by more senior development staff
  • Experience with RemoteLink, JDA WinDSS, SmartClixx, Windows Server, Terminal Services, Microsoft SQL, MYSQL, MS Excel, MS Word and other MS Office products.
  • Exposure and experience with PCI and SOX compliance.


Physical and Environmental Requirements

  • Must be able to sit or stand at a computer or desk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to use hands/arms to operate keyboard, telephone and for repetitive motion activities.
  • Must be able to lift objects up to 25 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Must be able to communicate using speech, sight, and sound with or without assistive device.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, stoop or crouch while performing daily activities of the job.
