Job Description

The Transfer Driver will be responsible for daily moves between the AWBC Florence warehouse and our facility in Tuscumbia, Media Solutions and Label Aid in Decatur, our local BAM store, and any other moves needed during the day. This position may be needed to assist in yard moves. Additionally, unloading and loading of trailers or other warehouse duties as be needed. This role will report to the Transportation Manager and will need to assist with any activities needed and be flexible with hour availability.

Roles and Responsibilities

Drive company vehicles to pick up and drop transfer product between warehouses in the Shoals area.
Drive company vehicles to pick up and drop product at Media Solutions and Label Aid in Decatur, AL.
Deliver important documents to required destinations.
Ensure that all deliveries have been signed and delivered to the correct recipient.
Operate tractor and trailers including 28’ trailers pulled in tandem and straight trucks.
Make deliveries to local BAM store in a timely and accurate manner. This will include loading and unloading of freight by hand of up to fifty pounds. Verify both piece counts on product delivered to and returned from customers and accurately complete all BOL’s and other paperwork.
Ensure that all product is down stacked in the customer’s back room and left in a safe and neat manner.
Provide excellent Customer Service by keeping BAM and stores aware of any delays and assisting stores in reporting delivery discrepancies.
Ensure the public safety through safe and courteous driving
Always keep vehicle clean and maintained

Perform preventative and regular maintenance on vehicle

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Must hold a valid Commercial Class-A Driver’s License
Must have a driving record in Good Standing.
Must be at least 21 years old;
Can safely operate the motor vehicle he/she will be driving;
Is physically qualified to operate the vehicle in accordance with DOT REG Sec. 391.41;
Has a currently valid commercial motor vehicle operator’s license issued by his/her state of residence;
Has provided a list of violations as required by DOT REG Sec. 391.27;
Is not disqualified to operate a motor vehicle under DOT REG Sec. 391.15; and
Has successfully completed a road test or its equivalent DOT REG (Sec. 391.31, 391.33).
