Job Description

Reporting to the Vice President of Warehouse Operations, the Outbound Sr Manager is responsible for the oversight of the daily operations of the fulfillment process for Order Filling & Shipping within the Distribution Center.  The SR Manager will be actively involved with mentoring the department managers, setting short- and long-term goals for personal and departmental success.  This position will work collaboratively with cross functional teams at AWBC and Corporate to ensure that Outbound operations align with company-wide strategies and initiatives.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Coach, train and mentor staff regarding departmental policies and procedures, job responsibilities and safety practices
  • Oversee the order filling department management and processes, to ensure that product flows to the stores and customers on a timely basis
  • Oversee the shipping department management to ensure efficient and accurate flow of product
  • Maintain desired quality to ensure product arrives to stores intact and undamaged
  • Optimization of workflows and processes
  • Review productivity reports and recommend process adjustments and take action to achieve productivity targets
  • Provide feedback on the order management processes and procedures to enable on time, accurate, complete delivery of goods to all customers
  • Assess current practices and make ongoing recommendations to improve procedures and/or technologies to improve service levels
  • Leverage use of Lean, 6S, 6 Sigma, or other methodologies in process improvement
  • Meet or exceed key departmental units per hour and cost per unit metrics
  • Prepare and present required productivity reports, financial reports, and other related documents
  • Prepare and control department budget and costs
  • Promote a Safety Culture in both Orderfilling and Shipping Departments
  • Prepare Yearly Evaluations for Department Managers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or similar field of study required.
  • At least five years of experience in Distribution Center Fulfillment, including experience as a supervisor or manager

  • Must be extremely organized and accurate, and have meticulous attention to detail
  • Must demonstrate proven leadership skills
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with a sense of urgency
  • Strong verbal, written, and multi-tasking skills without compromise to quality or productivity
  • Strong PC skills and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Outlook and Power-Point)
  • Must be able to quickly build strong working relationships with customers and colleagues

Physical and Environmental Requirements

  • Must be able to sit at a computer or desk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to use hands/arms to operate keyboard, telephone and for repetitive motion activities.
  • Must be able to lift objects up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
  • Must be able to communicate using speech, sight, and sound with or without assistive device.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, stoop or crouch while performing daily activities of the job.
