Job Description

Job Description: The Production Manager works in partnership with the Marketing Department to bring design concepts to life for four major brands: Books-A-Million, 2nd & Charles, Joe Muggs and Yogurt Mountain. You’ll be the liaison between the Creative Director & Team with printing and fabrication vendors and involved in all stages of the production process. This will require strong organizational and communication skills as well as the ability to analyze information, help with decision making, and work through solutions to problems. Managing multiple creative projects at once is key to the success of the Production Manager role. This position reports to the Creative Director.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Familiarity with print pre-production processes, including preparing files for print, checking proofs,

and understanding color systems.

• Basic design/typesetting skills or familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud programs, particularly

InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator

• Eye for detail and strong organizational skills

• Experience managing seasonal projects’ workflow and deadlines

• Ability to work cross-departmentally between Marketing, Operations, Merchandising and

Construction. The ability to communicate with various levels within the organization is key.

• Collaborate effectively with exterior vendors.

• Self-motivation in a deadline-oriented environment

• Ability to manage multiple projects

• Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Preferred Skills

• Design skills & sense of creativity a plus.

• Retail experience

• Ability to hang signs, build corrugate displays from instructions, and set up store fixtures.

• CAD or 3D rendering experience a bonus.

• Experience with project management tool (Basecamp, Workflow, etc.)
