Job Description

Reporting to the Inventory Control Manager and the 3rd shift Operations Manager, the Inventory Control Specialist is a key member of the Inventory Control team responsible for various Inventory Control Reporting needs, along with regular Inventory Control Warehouse duties.  This position interacts and collaborates with both 1st shift and 2nd shift.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all Inventory Control functions including but not limited to: Cycle counts, receiving, stocking, fulfilling orders and shipping orders
  • Count and verify inventory on shelves, key count information
  • Accurately identify the correct items from their correct location
  • Audit locations and make necessary inventory changes.
  • Research requested adjustments and make necessary changes to on-hand inventory count
  • Generate reports using Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Email reports to chain for work processing and publish necessary reports daily
  • Running queries using AS/400
  • Responsible for following all safety rules, regulations and guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a distribution center/warehouse, Inventory Control experience preferred
  • Experience with the use of radio-frequency scanner preferred

Skills

  • PIT experience and/or the ability to become PIT certified preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work in teams or independently
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Outlook.
  • Thorough understanding of inventory control policies and procedures

Physical and Environmental Requirements

  • Stand for long periods of time, up to 4 continuous hours and up to 8 – 12 hours during a shift
  • Frequent walking through the department/building
  • Use hands/arms to operate required equipment and repetitive motion activities
  • Lift objects up to 50 pounds with or without assistance
  • Communicate using speech, sight, and sound with or without assistive device
  • Bend, stoop or crouch while performing daily activities of the job
  • Ability to work in a noisy environment
  • Ability to work in an environment with fluctuating temperatures
