Job Description:  Night Shift DC Manager plans, organizes and monitors all areas of the Receiving and Stocking departments at AWBC. This position oversees and directs activities so that AWBC’s inbound operations is sustained and operating in as safe, quality focused and efficient manner as possible.  The DC Manager works collaboratively with cross-functional teams at AWBC to ensure that Inbound operations align with company-wide strategies, initiatives and priorities based on dynamic business needs.   This is an exempt, supervisory position, reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Inbound Operations. 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure that operations are aligned and performed to achieve all Receiving & Stocking key performance indicators (KPI’s) including service level agreements (SLAs), productivity, quality, and safety.
  • Provides guidance, instruction, direction and leadership for all associates in areas of responsibility.
  • Leads well-connected and engaged team through frequent floor presence with attention on associate concerns and ideas.
  • Ensure standard company Inbound policies and procedures are adhered to, as required.
  • Promotes safety culture within the departments daily.
  • Regularly analyze the elements of Inbound functions for risks, opportunities or trends and make recommendations to correct adverse activities.
  • Monitor work processes to determine how current processes could be improved from a productivity, quality, or safety perspective.
  • Responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing improvements in business processes and practices using statistical analysis and project management skills
  • Works with management to recruit, select, and develop talent for department.
  • Takes corrective action with associates as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy consulting with Human Resources Department as appropriate.
  • Establishes and maintains a strong relationship with the on-site and corporate leadership team.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned and required.

Job Requirements

Education / Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Proven ability to lead work teams successfully, while displaying core leadership skills and achieving results
  • 5+ years of experience in operations management, preferably in a process-oriented operations and/or related industry. A minimum of 2 years of experience managing a significant segment of a large distribution center, fulfillment center, warehouse or production facility.

Required Skills

  • Working knowledge of warehouse and distribution functions
  • Strong computer skills, including demonstrated advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
  • Experience with WMS and or ERP
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Results-oriented
  • Ability to create and maintain professional relationships with senior management, executive management, and corporate office personnel, leading across multiple leadership levels in the organization
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills
    • Can effectively organize and administer work, and ensure accountability for compliance and completion
    • Ability to prepare and present analyses and reports
    • Excellent problem solving and time management skills

    Physical and Environmental Requirements

    • Must be able to sit at a computer or desk for extended periods of time.
    • Must be able to use hands/arms to operate keyboard, telephone and for repetitive motion activities.
    • Read and write legibly. Including very small print.
    • Walk up to 8 miles a day. Walking short distances through the department/building.
    • Lift objects up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
    • Communicate using speech, sight, and sound with or without assistive device.
    • Bend, stoop or crouch while performing daily activities of the job.
